Being a Yoga Teacher has given 7 years of practical experience working with a diverse body of students with different ailments and physical limitations. In combination with her Massage Therapy training, this has given her a very good understanding of human biomechanics and remedial exercise to help form a well rounded plan for treatment.

Yoga

Cara has been practicing Yoga for 14 years; she started when she was diagnosed with Scoliosis. She used Yoga as a therapeutic practice to help keep the curve of her spine in check. She attributes the health of her spine and overall well being to a dedicated Yoga practice.

While Cara has devoted most of her personal practice throughout the years to the Kripalu tradition, she became a certified Yoga teacher in 2005 at Maureen Rae's Yoga Studio and Teacher Training School. She was taught mainly in the Iyengar and Viniyoga traditions, in addition to sequencing Vinyasa (flow) Yoga.

Cara spent 5 weeks of intense training with V. Sheshadri in Mysore, India, where she obtained a 200hr certification in Ashtanga Yoga. Sheshardri has perfected a style of hands-on adjustments that helps deepen the practice of any level of student. While there, she also studied Pranayama under Sheshadri's tutelage.

As part of this amazing teacher training she spent much time with Dr. Nagarav MD, Naturopath and Ayurvedic Dr; under whom she learnt the fundamentals of Ayurveda, Yoga therapy, the Yoga Sutra's, and Meditation. This trip was a life-altering experience that is reflected in the way she teaches today.

Most recently Cara has trained with one of the world's top Ashtanga Instructors David Swenson.
